My english is as good as my french. I thought if he was french I could help a little bit over the telephone. But since he isn't, and that I don't really know much about the automatic gearbox problems anyway I don't really see what I can do... but if you think I can then please let me know!
Where exactly is he by the way? -
OK then I can't really help a lot.

Zitat von Iroquois
Ich habe 10 Jahre lang mit einem 308d getrieben und ich kann Ihnen versichern, dass ein 308CDI einen großen Unterschied gibt! Viel glatter und bergauf mehr Power.
Thanks that's good to know.
The problem is electronics. When they fail you can be sure to have to spend a lot of money!
Also bear in mind that CDI are more sensitive to the quality of diesel (bad diesel, water content, etc). Am I right? -
308D = om601 4 cylinder indirect injection, inline PES Bosch pump
310D, 312D = om602 5 cylinder direct injection (low pressure, not common rail), rotary Bosch pump
CDI motors I don't know. -
Hi
Personnally I'm all about the Sprinters 1995-2000. Little to no electronics, more rugged engines, easier and cheaper to repair. But at the end of the day it all depends on how much money you have to spend and keep spending on maintenance and repairs.
I have never driven a 308 CDI, so I don't know how well that drives uphill. I know that my old 308D from 1996 doesn't have a lot of power climbing hills... But I wouldn't expect the CDI to be much better in that field.
Now I can understand that the CDI is quieter, more fuel efficient and EURO-3 and you guys have the "stickers" so I can understand how important that is to you.
But me, I like learning about mechanics and do as much as I can by myself and avoid going to mechanic workshops that rip you off, so it's all about the "old school diesel".
A nearly ideal van would be a 312D with a Paketkoffer and manual transmission but those are quite rare. But they're not impossible to find...
Actually you guys are spoiled in Germany as that's where all those nice vans are including the rare ones...
Did RKB ever make non-CDI Sprinters? -
Hi
If I understand correctly, you rebouild a panel of your Köffer with Korapür 666 is this right? -
OK but I still didn't understand exactly what happened to your van. Just a wild guess but did you check the autogearbox relays under the driver's seat and could that have anything to do with your problem?
-
So you bought a new button box? And it's still not working 100%?
Did you read my post saying that you can manually move the actuator to change the gears? -
So what is the plan now?
It's funny because the guy I bought my van from had the exact same problem as you... in Spain! So he drove back to France by manually moving the servomotor actuator... sorry I didn't say this before I didn't think of it and I don't visit the forum often!
So if you want to drive back to Germany I guess you can, then try to repair your button-box the best way possible, in due time. -
what is better: Sika 252 or 255?
Also for doing this job how many cartridges do you think I need?
Another question: Alu rivets or stainless steel rivets?
Sorry for so many questions...Zitat von FranzXaverDo you know how the fire started?
Oops just realized I didn't understand this question of yours... sorry! So the fire started because the car that was parked next to my van was criminally burned... that's the reason why.

Hi
Good so that's one good thing out of the way.
Unfortunatly the "tastenschalter" push-button part is VERY expensive unless you can get it 2nd hand and I guess there's very little chances of finding one...
Otherwise usual place, Mercedes dealer, of course. They should be able to order any part.
My advise to you would be to try to repair it. What makes you think the part is damaged?
Did you check the auto gearbox relays / calculators also?Dirk will surely help you out

Congratulations on your fantastic work - better than professional! Must be really rewarding to be able to do such great work.

Hi there
No I don't please by all means do educate me -
Thanks for giving me confidence my friend. I really need it and so I appreciate it!
I didn't know the Fein multimaster, looks like a very compact multi-purpose angle-grinder? Looks nice.
I think the panels that are available around here don't have any alu. Only polyester resin with fiberglass and inside, PU or PE, and gelcoat outside.
So do you think a cutter is OK to slide inside the profile and cut away the glue and remove the panel?
Another thing, which Sika (or another brand) is most appropriate? Because 252 is very expensive and hard to find around here. But if it's the right one, then no problemo I will get 252. -
Hello all
So as maybe you all know now my van is damaged because of a fire...
So I need to repair it.
I must change the side panel (wall) and one panel on the back.
I'd like to ask for suggestions on how to work.
Here I read that a 25mm panel is 5.5Kg/m2 so my wall is around 7m2 ok not so heavy <40Kg Is this correct?
http://www.anhaenger-selbstbau.de/epages/6308021…roducts/SANDW25So my questions are:
How do you take the old wall down? Slide a cutter inside the Alu-profiles?
How do you clean the glue?
Then how do you install the new panel - just slide inside the alu-profile and glue with Sika 252 or Körapur 125 or other kind of polymer-glue?Thanks very much, I've never done this kind of big repair...

Very nice! Is that SAXAS or RKB? hehe

Hi
MB dealers in Spain should be able to order servomotor #A0012352395 price new is around 278€ + VAT
Also you could try http://mbspecialist.es but I don't know if they are still selling original MB parts... here in France they stopped. Can only buy original Mercedes parts from MB-dealers.
Are you sure this is the origin of the problem? Or is it the pushbutton on the dashboard? -
